What Is CPA Crane Hire?

CPA crane hire (also called “crane and operator hire” or “operated crane hire”) is providedunder the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) Model Conditions. We supply the craneand a qualified operator. Your organisation plans, supervises and controls the lift, and isresponsible for the crane and operator while they’re on your site.

CPA hire is the right choice if you already have a competent Appointed Person, lift plan and insurance in place, which is typical for main contractors, steel erectors and industrial maintenance teams.

If you don’t have these in place, a fully managed contract lift is usually the better and safer option. We take full responsibility for planning, personnel, documentation and insurance.

What Size Crane Do I Need?

To choose the right crane, we need to know:-

  • Load weight: including any lifting accessories
  • Radius: the horizontal distance from where the crane can be set up to where the load is picked up and placed
  • Lift height: how high the load needs to go, including any obstacles it must clear
  • Site access: gate widths, road access, weight limits and the space available to set up the crane and its outriggers

Send us these details and we’ll recommend the most suitable and cost-effective crane for the job. If you’re not sure of the figures, we can carry out a site survey.
